We're seeking a skilled Game Programmer to join our team at Silent Games, a Double A game development studio based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. As a key member of our development team, you'll be responsible for implementing the core gameplay and feature set of our upcoming RPG game.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement game logic, mechanics, and features using C++ and Unreal Engine 4/5
  • Collaborate with the Animation team to create engaging character, camera, and control systems
  • Work closely with Game Designers to develop tools and mechanics that meet their requirements
  • Identify and troubleshoot performance and stability issues, implementing suitable solutions
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code and best practices
Requirements
  • Proficiency in C++ and experience with Unreal Engine 4/5
  • Strong understanding of game development pipelines and processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with 3D graphics development and dynamic action combat
  • Knowledge of RPG systems, such as generated loot and character stats
  • Familiarity with optimizing game code for performance
