About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Machine Hygienist to join our team at International Procurement & Logistics. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career and join a global business with a £2 billion + turnover.

The Machine Hygienist will be responsible for ensuring that all machinery and equipment is cleaned at our site. Our Westry site is responsible for packing potatoes and onions on behalf of our customer Asda.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keep operational areas clean and to high standards, including the pack house, warehouse, and stores, as well as the perimeter of the building.
  • Be involved in waste processing, water and electricity readings, and record, monitoring, and recording Sodium Hypochlorite readings, taking relevant corrective action.
  • Handle chemicals as per COSHH training and regulations.
  • Effectively communicate with the Hygiene supervisor/Shift Operations Leader/Area Leader regarding any issues or concerns over any hygiene issues within the shift.
  • Ensure that all training is adhered to and all required areas are controlled to meet BRC and COSHH standards.
  • Comply with the Hygiene Cleaning Schedule.
  • Record all completed Hygiene on relevant sign-off sheets.
  • Comply with existing Cleaning Instruction cards and SOPs.
  • Work to a timely manner to maximize efficiency and complete additional tasks at quieter periods.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone with experience of working in a factory environment, good practical skills, and the ability to work quickly and methodically within a team environment and follow instructions.

Additionally, we require:

  • Experience of working with factory equipment.
  • Good practical skills.
  • The ability to work quickly and methodically within a team environment and follow instructions.
  • An awareness of Health and Safety and understanding of Health and Safety policies in the workplace.
  • Food Safety Level 1 or equivalent.
  • COSHH certification.
  • A good level of understanding of the English language.
  • A willingness to take any training required for this role and work flexibly.
