About the Role

The Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources (BSEER) is a world-leading institution in research and teaching on sustainability transformations. The Institute for Sustainable Resources is one of four institutes within BSEER, with a mission to generate knowledge in the globally sustainable use of natural resources and train the future leaders in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in natural capital measurement and accounting, with a focus on stock/flow differences, ecosystem services, and environmental valuation methods.
  • Develop and implement research projects in national accounting, natural capital, environmental valuation, input-output analysis, and related topics.
  • Collaborate with the Office for National Statistics (ONS) as part of its Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence (ESCoE) programme.
  • Contribute to the development of extended national accounts and other published economic accounts.
Requirements
  • PhD in an area relevant to natural capital measurement and accounting.
  • Knowledge of natural capital concepts and approaches to its measurement.
  • Experience of research in national accounting, natural capital, environmental valuation, input-output analysis, and related topics.
