As a key member of the project management team, you will collaborate closely with the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager to facilitate the successful execution of strategic capital maintenance initiatives. Your role will involve engaging with external partners, internal teams, and various stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of critical projects that enhance asset resilience and customer supply.
This position offers the opportunity to work on significant capital maintenance projects with substantial budgets, presenting a rewarding challenge for a driven Project Coordination Assistant eager to contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional value to our customers while prioritizing environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Maintain and update all project-related documentation, including contracts, permits, and compliance materials.
- Prepare and deliver regular progress updates to stakeholders, emphasizing key milestones, challenges, and risks.
- Serve as a liaison for operations, principal contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication.
- Organize and lead coordination meetings to ensure alignment and information sharing among all parties.
- Oversee project activities to guarantee adherence to industry standards and safety protocols.
- Assist in conducting quality control inspections and address any identified defects or issues promptly.
- Support the identification of potential risks and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.
- Aid the Project Manager in resolving conflicts and issues that may arise throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in the procurement process for materials, equipment, and services necessary for project execution.
- Conduct site inspections regularly to monitor progress and ensure that project activities remain on schedule.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on-site, fostering a safe working environment.
- Provide support to project team members, facilitating the resolution of issues and ensuring smooth project delivery.
- Manage various administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, preparing documentation, and maintaining project records.
- Ensure accurate recording and maintenance of project data within management systems.
About You
We are looking for candidates with a strong background in organizational skills and effective communication, ideally within the Water, Utilities, or Engineering sectors. A foundational qualification in Project Management (e.g., APM Project Management Fundamentals) is preferred, though we are open to supporting your development in this area.

Package
This position is full-time, operating Monday to Friday for a total of 37 hours per week. Southern Water adopts a hybrid working model.
