About the Role

Cogent Breeding Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Genetics Consultant to join our dynamic UK Sales team. As a Genetics Consultant, you will play a crucial role in providing expert advice and guidance to dairy and beef farmers on how to improve the genetic quality of their herds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing exceptional customer service and understanding their business needs.
  • Provide farmers with expert advice and recommendations on how to achieve their individual targets and improve their herd's genetic quality.
  • Manage and build a portfolio of customers, achieving individual sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Cogent's portfolio of products and services, sharing this expertise with colleagues and customers.
  • Continuously develop and improve your skills and working practices, staying up-to-date with industry trends and market developments.
  • Ensure that Cogent's policies and procedures are adhered to, both personally and within your team.
  • Attend agricultural events to promote and market Cogent's products and services.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of industry trends and market developments, sharing this expertise with colleagues and customers.
  • Comply with Company policy and best practice in security, legal, and regulatory compliance.
  • Review, plan, and prioritize daily farm visits to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Essential Skills
  • Able to consistently achieve or exceed an annual sales target.
  • Knowledge of the Bovine Breeding Industry.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced and sales-focused role, achieving sales targets.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Smart and tidy appearance at all times.
  • Flexible approach to getting the job done.
  • Full UK driving license.
Additional Information

As a Genetics Consultant, you may be required to stay away from home from time to time to attend meetings and events. You may also be asked to travel overseas on study tours from time to time.
