Main Responsibilities- Range Planning: Collaborate with Buyers and Product Managers to plan a commercial range, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Supplier Management: Ensure that our supply base has the capability to meet requirements, negotiating with suppliers for best prices while maintaining product integrity and standards in production.
- Product Development: Understand and contribute towards brand and product handwriting, ensuring that agreed levels of good, better, and best product are bought.
- Competitor Analysis: Review competitor activity and regularly assess price architecture to inform buying decisions.
- Time Management: Meet deadlines within the buying calendar and adhere to the critical path, setting clear performance standards for self and team members.
- Communication: Present the range in Trading, selection, sign-off, and review meetings, ensuring timely communication of issues and developments to the Buying Manager.
- Marketing Support: Assist in driving marketing and trading activity via e-commerce campaigns and POS, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Competency Reviews: Complete Competency Reviews and develop Personal Development plans with the buying team.
- Project Work: Undertake project work as required, developing and sharing best practices across the buying floor.
- Deliver a Profitable Range: Deliver a profitable range in a timely manner, meeting business objectives.
- Range Development: Develop a range that works visually alongside other products to agreed guidelines, ensuring alignment with brand and product handwriting.
- Commercial Awareness: Work within budget to increase sales while reducing markdown, demonstrating strong commercial awareness.
- Passion for Fashion: Passion for fashion, up-to-date on trends, with an understanding of inclusive fashion and its challenges.
- Supplier Experience: Experience of working with a range of suppliers, UK and overseas.
- Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial awareness, with a proven ability to work well within a team and independently.
- Communication Skills: Effective communicator and presenter, with a proven record of good attendance and flexibility.
- Education: Relevant fashion/buying degree desirable, with Microsoft Excel skills required.
