About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team at Jacobs, a leading Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the Programme and Project Partners (PPP) arrangement.

This is a unique opportunity to drive change and innovation in engineering, safety, and delivery solutions in one of the most complex industrial sites in the UK, if not the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the design team and site-based team to deliver mechanical work scope, production, and checking.
  • Produce detail drawings using Inventor/AutoCAD software, including GA's, manufacturing details, and layout drawings.
  • Modify and update existing drawings and diagrams as the design matures during testing and manufacture.
Requirements
  • Experience of working within a highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, remote operations in a nuclear environment, or mechanical handling preferred.
  • Experience using Inventor/AutoCAD.
  • Experience of 'Design for Assembly' within a regulated industry.
  • Experience in machining and fabrication manufacturing processes.
  • HNC/HND in a relevant engineering subject and/or demonstrable design experience.
