Role Overview:
The primary objective of this position is to assist Intelligence Analysts in recognizing long-term strategic and emerging challenges within the region. The role also entails providing immediate tactical support for Counter Terrorism Policing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of intelligence and information from both open and closed sources, utilizing various databases to formulate a comprehensive collection strategy that enables the Intelligence Analysts to generate precise intelligence assessments.
- Produce detailed research summaries that leverage all accessible intelligence to guide and concentrate efforts within the region.
- Adhere to strict deadlines while identifying and investigating all relevant data concerning issues, patterns, trends, threats, risks, and harm on a regional, national, and international scale, facilitating further analysis by the Intelligence Analyst when necessary.
- Follow directives established by the Intelligence Analyst, providing robust research capabilities to aid in the identification of emerging risks and the targeting of offenders.
- Embrace problem-solving methodologies in policing to support intelligence and analytical outputs that contribute to the development of interventions aimed at significantly altering the regional risk landscape.
- Maintain proficiency with police information systems and possess extensive knowledge of analytical IT solutions, including Geographic Information Systems, Database and Data Mining software, and statistical tools.
- Exhibit specialized and current knowledge of various data sources utilized by analysts in law enforcement, such as geographic, financial, ANPR, telecommunications data, intelligence, and crime/incident data, while effectively assisting analytical colleagues in the preliminary processing, manipulation, and evaluation of this data.
- Identify intelligence deficiencies and collaborate with officers to prepare and enhance intelligence collection strategies.
- Compile and present research findings in written form and deliver verbal presentations as required, either independently or in support of the Intelligence Analyst.
- Coordinate with internal units, other regional forces, and the national coordination center to ensure the appropriate exchange of information and intelligence, adhering to all relevant legislation and policies.
- Design and execute research and evaluation projects, including conducting background research and developing and implementing suitable methodologies, including drafting Terms of Reference and establishing milestones.
