Specialty Doctor Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialty Doctor to join our team at Holybourne Hospital in Roehampton, an Adult Mental Health service for individuals with severe and complex mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the multidisciplinary team in screening assessments for admissions to the service.
  • Contribute to the care and treatment of patients, including weekly ward round reviews, risk assessments, and ongoing treatment plans.
  • Lead on physical health assessments of newly admitted patients and liaise with primary and secondary care services as required.
  • Attend family meetings, case review meetings, and discharge planning meetings as needed.
  • Ensure robust clinical documentation, including timely discharge and transfer summaries.
  • Practice evidence-based care through national standards and guidelines.
  • Engage in supervision with designated Consultant colleagues.
  • Participate in external reviews (CQC and Quality Network reviews).
  • Participate in the on-call rota.
Management Responsibilities:
  • Attend and contribute to the hospital-wide Clinical Governance Group (monthly).
  • Attend and contribute to the group-wide Mental Health Clinical Governance Group (quarterly).
  • Participate in service development through research, innovation, and local audit.
  • Engage in strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly NHS partners.
  • Engage in National Networks.
  • Participate in ongoing personal development through CPD and annual appraisal.
  • Regularly review prescribing practices in conjunction with Ashton's E-Prescribing reports.
Requirements:
  • MRCPsych (desirable but not required).
  • Section 12 Approved (desirable but not required).
  • Experience working in inpatient adult acute settings.
  • Evidenced-based practice.
  • Confidence in engaging internal and external stakeholders.
  • Patient-centered, outcomes-based care.
