We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Industrial Maintenance Specialist to become a vital part of our team at Bekaert, working across our two Newcastle facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Your main focus as an Industrial Maintenance Specialist will be to uphold the functionality and dependability of our equipment across both sites in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This role requires proactive strategies to reduce equipment downtime through effective maintenance practices, compliance with safety regulations, continuous improvement efforts, and involvement in various projects. The position encompasses both electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Conducting preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Ensuring smooth operation of machinery
  • Proactively addressing and resolving issues
  • Performing diagnostic tests and reactive maintenance to prevent faults

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery
  • Proficiency in both mechanical and electrical maintenance within a manufacturing context
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and best practices
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Capability to work in confined spaces or at heights
  • Ability to function effectively both independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to adapt to shifting priorities and environments
  • Availability for occasional assignments at different locations as needed
  • Relevant qualifications, such as City and Guilds or equivalent
