Bridge Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bridge Inspector to join our team at Waterman Aspen. As a key member of our West Midlands team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity of our clients' highway assets.

• Carry out General Inspection and Principal inspection of Highway Structures in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges.
• Record and report on all inspections, including the use of Structures Management System in accordance with the CSS Bridge Condition Index system.
• Interpretation of bridge structure defects in construction materials such as steel and concrete.
• Understand the importance of efficient reporting of urgent and severe defects that have the potential to reduce capacity and performance.
• Record defects on site and report via online structural management systems.
• Liaise between departments, arrange traffic management, access equipment, and compile task briefing sheets.
• Technical knowledge of bridge structures.
• Experience in Civil Engineering with particular relevance to inspection and maintenance of highway structures assets.
• Sound technical understanding of construction materials and forms.
• Good knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety and CDM 2015.
• Experienced in the management and maintenance of trunk or local road network.
• Demonstrable experience in a relevant discipline preferably involving work of a structural or building nature is desirable.
• Full valid UK driving licence.
