Job Title: Management Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team at Fed Finance. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting our strategic objectives and driving financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare and monitor budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and advising on financial planning.
  • Management Reporting: Produce monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and commentary to provide clear insights into financial performance.
  • Cost Control and Analysis: Monitor departmental spending and cost centers, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, and advising on financial implications.
  • Financial Planning: Assist in the development of long-term financial plans and capital projects, providing detailed analysis and financial modeling.
  • Year-End Reporting: Support the preparation of statutory accounts and assist in the annual audit process.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs and advise on short-term investments or financing needs.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems, ensuring efficient financial operations.
  • Compliance and Controls: Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal policies, maintaining a robust financial control environment.
  • Business Partnering: Work closely with department heads, providing financial advice and supporting them in their decision-making processes.
  • Financial Projects: Support the Finance Director in ad-hoc financial projects and provide analysis for strategic initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent), with proven experience in management accounting.
  • Experience: Strong background in financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting, ideally in a busy or complex organization.
  • Technical Skills: High level of proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel skills for analysis and reporting. Knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems is a plus.
  • Analytical Mindset: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Resilience and Tenacity: Ability to remain calm under pressure, manage competing deadlines, and ensure high-quality financial outputs.
