Job Summary

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pupil Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in promoting positive engagement and delivering high-quality support to individuals with significant and complex learning needs within our Primary and Secondary Complex Needs Provisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support individuals with complex learning needs to engage in learning opportunities and achieve their full potential.
  • Deliver tailored support to meet the specific needs of each pupil, promoting independence and self-confidence.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional well-being.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting complex needs.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in supporting individuals with complex learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Commitment to promoting positive engagement and supporting individuals to achieve their full potential.

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time position, split equally between Banff Primary and Banff Academy. The post holder will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
