We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Waste Operative. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our waste management facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist members of the public and visitors with queries and provide guidance as needed
  • Report any service or safety concerns to management
  • Conduct regular checks on equipment and mobile plant to ensure they are in good working order
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
  • Inspect waste received at the Waste Transfer Stations and verify that it meets the required criteria
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks on plant equipment, such as bulb changes and oil level checks
  • Complete and report on daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance of mobile plant
  • Operate the weighbridge and direct traffic on-site
  • Assist with plant operation, where trained

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
