Soft Tissue Surgeon Opportunity at Bristol Veterinary Specialists

Bristol Veterinary Specialists, part of CVS (UK) Limited, is seeking a skilled and passionate Soft Tissue Surgeon to join our team on a 12-month maternity leave cover. As a specialist-led, veterinary referral-only hospital, we provide exceptional care for pets and offer a comprehensive range of services, including soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, neurology, internal medicine, anaesthesia, oncology, dentistry, and more.

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Soft Tissue Surgeon who is committed to delivering outstanding care, collaborating with colleagues, and contributing to the growth and success of our practice. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in soft tissue surgery and a strong interest in surgical oncology.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care for Soft Tissue patients, their owners, and referring vets.
  • Provide post-operative care and support to patients and their owners.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and referring veterinarians to ensure continuity of care.
  • Stay abreast of latest advancements in surgery and participate in continuing education opportunities.
  • Contribute to the mentorship and training of residents and interns.
  • Provide support and CPD for referring veterinarians.
  • Provide on-call cover for the surgery department (soft tissue and orthopaedics), 1 in 4.
Requirements
  • Board certification or eligibility in Veterinary Surgery (ECVS, ACVS, or RCVS).
  • Demonstrated expertise in Soft Tissue surgery.
  • Strong diagnostic and surgical skills, with a commitment to excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Dedication to providing compassionate care to patients and their owners.
