About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cover Supervisor to support our teaching staff in Chester and the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage classrooms in the absence of the teacher, ensuring students remain on task and maintain high standards of behaviour and learning.
  • Ensure students complete assigned work and maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Follow the school's behaviour management policies to ensure student conduct is appropriate.
  • Provide support to individual students as needed and liaise with teaching staff regarding cover work and any issues that arise during lessons.
  • Assist with other duties around the school as required, including exam invigilation and support during school events.
Requirements
  • A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Experience working with young people, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • A genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
