Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Director of Legal Services and the Deputy Head of Legal Services to ensure the effective delivery of comprehensive legal services. Responsibilities include:

  • Meeting both internal and external legal obligations.
  • Assisting team members in drafting legal documents and statements as necessary.
  • Representing the organization at Inquests and Court Hearings, providing support to witnesses.
  • Conducting advocacy in legal settings.
  • Delivering training sessions and presentations to staff, and participating in relevant committees and working groups.
  • Offering extensive advice on medico-legal matters, including urgent situations.
  • Reviewing and revising Trust policies as needed.
  • Addressing Regulation 28 Prevention of Future Deaths issues appropriately.
  • Collaborating effectively with various Trust contacts to ensure comprehensive knowledge sharing.
  • Engaging in governance activities.
  • Exemplifying professional leadership and serving as a role model for the legal team.

The Lead Legal Advisor will play a pivotal role in achieving these objectives, supporting the broader team in delivering exceptional legal services.
