Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Sanctions Policy team at NatWest. As the Head of Sanctions, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the bank's Sanctions policy, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement the bank's Sanctions policy, ensuring it is reflective of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide SME advice to the business on Sanctions policy and procedures.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of operating procedures and controls to meet the bank's and local policy requirements.
  • Support and mentor colleagues in the Sanctions Policy team.
  • Represent the bank externally on Sanctions matters.
  • Lead a team to undertake complex Sanctions investigations, building relationships with the business and delivering advice on transactions, customers, or situations that involve complex Sanctions matters.

Requirements:

  • Deep Sanctions subject matter expertise.
  • Robust and broad understanding of risk management principles and regulatory framework.
  • Technical expertise of relevant political and legislative developments across the financial industry.
  • Ability to guide and influence business representatives on related matters.
  • Industry engagement on Sanctions matters.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment, divisional frameworks, and methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of broader risk disciplines.
  • Ability to build trust and demonstrate value, applying expertise to credibly influence customers, working in partnership with stakeholders.
