**Job Summary**
Aurizon is seeking an experienced Operations Improvement Specialist to join our team in Hexham. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and implementing major operational improvements across our Hunter Valley and South-East Queensland supply chains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with cross-functional business units to design, develop, and implement operational projects.
- Use data and analytics to determine operating mode improvements and communicate those with the business.
- Manage large-scale change projects across functions and supply chains.
- Be part of a creative team to design new ways of working to ensure Aurizon remains a sustainable business.
- Drive and maintain effective working relationships with customers and internal and external clients.
- Drive collaboration across functions and regions to ensure consistent application of operational efficiencies.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of operational experience (e.g., rostering, crew management, live run, logistics).
- Easily build relationships with all levels of the business.
- Exceptional presentation skills.
- Ability to effortlessly form partnerships, influence, and work in collaboration with stakeholders across all levels of Aurizon.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrate curiosity in understanding business problems and work with teams to identify and implement innovative solutions.
- Confident with negotiation and management of push-back.
- Able to work with operational and technical teams and travel to site as required.
- Sound ability to analyze complex matters and communicate discoveries to stakeholders and senior leadership teams.
- Ability to successfully manage and deliver multiple projects, initiatives, and meet deadlines and budgets.
- PowerBI and/or R-Studio experience will be highly regarded.
