Key Responsibilities
  • Trailer Placement: Safely place trailers in designated areas as per instructions from our operations team.
  • Communication: Utilize two-way radios to maintain effective communication with other team members and departments as necessary.
  • Safety Checks: Conduct regular safety checks to ensure compliance with company protocols and regulations.
  • Incident Reporting: Promptly report any defects, accidents, or incidents to the relevant authorities.
  • Temperature Control: Ensure that refrigerated trailers are maintained at the correct temperature to meet product requirements.
  • Fuel Management: Monitor and maintain adequate fuel levels in diesel tanks.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with colleagues.
  • Speed Limit Enforcement: Report any breaches of speed limits by drivers and subcontractors to the transport department.
  • Site Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle parking area, reporting any issues to the site services team.
  • Hygiene and Housekeeping: Ensure that company standards of hygiene and housekeeping are upheld in all areas of work.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to Health and Safety legislation and company policies.
Requirements
  • Desirable Qualifications: Previous experience working with and driving LGVs, shunting experience, and a background in a fast-paced environment.
  • Essential Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work under pressure, self-discipline, and motivation.
