About Bumble Inc.
At Bumble, we are on the lookout for a visionary Lead Product Security Strategist who will champion our secure Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) while closely collaborating with our Trust and Safety division to safeguard user information and proactively thwart misuse.
This position demands an inspiring leader adept at weaving state-of-the-art security methodologies into our AI-driven platforms across both mobile and web interfaces.
You will guide others through intricate security matters, enabling informed decisions based on available data, and when such data is lacking, you will confidently make and uphold your decisions.
Your empathy towards the challenges faced by software engineers will drive you to partner with engineering leaders, embedding security into the design process and ensuring your team serves as a credible source for risk evaluation and prioritization.
We seek to leverage your expertise in application and product security across new cross-functional areas such as trust and safety, billing and payments, and AI-enhanced security technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously enhance an advanced secure SDLC framework, integrating automation, machine learning, and contextual threat analysis.
- Guarantee that all software developed and/or deployed adheres to the stringent standards necessary to protect our customers' security and privacy.
- Fortify mobile and web application defenses utilizing the latest techniques in software composition, static and dynamic testing, and threat modeling for systems developed in Kotlin, Swift, PHP, Go, and C.
- Conduct comprehensive security evaluations and penetration testing to proactively identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
- Lead and expand the application and product security team, nurturing a culture of ongoing learning and innovation in security practices.
- Engage extensively with our Trust & Safety sector (including Product, Technical, Legal, Ops, and Policy) to devise technologies and processes that protect user interactions and data privacy across all platforms.
- Regularly update and present to senior management regarding security posture and product incident response.
- Own critical metrics related to product security incidents and risk trends within the codebase.
- Oversee application security initiatives across software engineering teams, providing technical guidance, managing the application security budget, and promoting a security-first mindset in software development and delivery.
- Foster team members' growth through constructive feedback, coaching, and career development.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while effectively addressing challenges that span product boundaries.
- Establish robust partnerships and advocate for quality throughout a cross-functional organization to achieve optimal security and engineering outcomes.
- Enhance developer productivity through training, driving solutions, and providing tooling support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; demonstrated experience in managing application security in high-stakes environments, ideally with exposure to both consumer and enterprise applications.
Profound technical knowledge in modern mobile application security, as well as legacy and contemporary application architectures. Strong expertise in software engineering best practices.
Experience in leading highly skilled application security assessors or engineers.
A subject matter expert in security-critical domains such as authorization, authentication, and/or cryptography.
