About the Role

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is partnering with a large logistics company to add to their finance team through a period of growth. As a Management Accountant, you will work alongside the Finance Manager, reporting to the Head of Finance and responsible for high-profit business units across the region.

Main Responsibilities
  • Financial Modelling and Commercial Insight: Proactively support the growth of the business by providing financial modelling and commercial insight to drive sustainable financial performance.
  • Investment and Business Case Support: Support the prioritization of investment and business cases with a focus on maximizing return on investment.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Promote a data-led approach to discussions with divisional teams, ensuring informed decision-making.
  • Commercial Negotiations: Support the business in commercial negotiations with customers and suppliers, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Financial Performance Management: Manage the financial performance of the business, including financial reporting (monthly, divisional, and group) and forecasting.
  • Funding and Cash Management: Develop an understanding of funding arrangements and control cash in line with budgets, forecasts, and covenants.
  • Relationship Building: Develop effective relationships across the divisional leadership team, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Process Improvement: Maintain appropriate controls, ensure adherence to delegated authorities, and continually evolve governance structures as the business grows.
Requirements
  • Accounting Qualification: Qualified Accountant or Part Qualified Accountant towards the end of studies.
  • Finance Business Partnering Experience: Proven track record in finance business partnering, with a strong understanding of UK GAAP.
  • Commercial Awareness: Commercially aware with a proven ability to identify and drive profit/cash improvement initiatives.
  • Planning and Forecasting Skills: Strong planning and forecasting skills, with the ability to partner with non-financial leaders.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to drive informed decision-making.
