The Emergency Department Technician role is a vital position within the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, playing a crucial part in delivering high-quality patient care in our Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities- Assist qualified nursing staff in providing patient care, including cannulation and venepuncture, ECGs, urinalysis, and other medical procedures.
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the Emergency Department, prioritizing workload and working under pressure to meet performance targets.
- Develop skills and knowledge in clinical governance, patient safety, and infection control.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to provide basic nursing care, including observations, neurological observations, and chaperoning doctors.
- Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
- Experience of working in a care setting, with competent venepuncture and cannulation skills.
- Desirable:
- NVQ Level 2 with specialist A&E experience.
- Basic Life Support Adults and Paediatric.
