Job Title: Junior Safety Case Consultant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Safety Case Consultant to join our team at Total Resourcing Ltd. As a key member of our Safety Case team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients in the production of safety cases and associated assessments for high-hazard category facilities and modifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality consultancy services that meet and exceed client expectations in terms of technical excellence, quality of deliverables, timescales, and cost.
  • Contribute to the development of safety cases and assessments for high-hazard category facilities and modifications.
  • Produce major elements of safety cases, including fault analysis and the identification and specification of safety systems.
  • Develop and present robust and reasoned arguments in a rational and coherent manner.
  • Participate in the integrated design process and interface with engineers and human factors specialists.
  • Contribute to the governance process, including responding to client, peer review, and safety committee comments.
  • Attend meetings with senior colleagues and interact with clients.
  • Identify opportunities with clients and support the development of graduates within the business.
Requirements:
  • BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng in an engineering, science, or related field of study (preferably with a specialization in nuclear).
  • Willingness to obtain a security clearance.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional engineering/technical specialist experience.
  • Basic understanding of the safety case production process and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with areas such as decommissioning, optioneering, best practice, human factors, radioactive materials transport, licensing, and radioactive waste.
