We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Officer - Safeguarding to join our team at We Manage Jobs (WMJobs). As a Commissioning Officer - Safeguarding, you will play a critical role in ensuring the citizens of Birmingham have safe, quality services that offer good outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning is to ensure the citizens of Birmingham have safe, quality services that offer good outcomes. Commissioners must have empathy for the rights and wellbeing of the local population they are commissioning services for.
  • The role of commissioning is to identify provider-related safeguarding and quality concerns, assess the risk, and liaise with Commissioners and safeguarding teams to resolve issues.
  • You will support both commissioners and the safeguarding team in the collection and triangulation of safeguarding concerns from multiple sources, collating information, and developing systems to record information on safeguarding concerns within regulated care services.
  • You will be asked to provide safeguarding information, data, and reports both informally and formally to commissioners and the safeguarding team.
  • You may have to work collaboratively with care providers to ensure any safeguarding concerns are identified, investigated, and progressed and escalated where necessary.

Requirements:

  • You must have outstanding communication skills and be able to communicate at the level, pace, and understanding of the audience, both verbally and in writing.
  • You will have a good understanding of safeguarding adults with care and support needs.
  • You will require skills in building and maintaining relationships.
  • You must be adaptable, flexible, and able to manage change and conflicting priorities.
  • You must have skills in the collection and analysis of data from multiple sources.
  • You will be able to identify and mitigate risks and have a commitment to quality assurance and monitoring mechanisms.
  • You will have excellent IT skills, in particular, Windows software.
