Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement risk policies related to capital adequacy, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite.
  • Collaborate with finance, treasury, risk management, and other key stakeholders to support informed decision-making and risk governance.
  • Establish and maintain capital risk policies, procedures, and standards that guide capital management behaviours across HSBC.
  • Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) related to capital management and provide regular reports to senior leadership and the HSBC UK Board.
  • Analyse scenario assessments and stress test results and develop recommendations for mitigating risks identified through these exercises.
Requirements:
  • In-depth understanding of capital risk management principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and financial modelling tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.

The base location for this role is Birmingham/Sheffield/Edinburgh, with a hybrid working pattern.
