About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Sterling Cross. As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Engineering team in achieving zero breakdowns by undertaking planned maintenance tasks autonomously.
  • Undertake reactive maintenance tasks in a proactive fashion to minimize manufacturing downtime.
  • Work on electrical installations up to 440V, process safety circuits, and electrical control circuits, following relevant health and safety standards.
  • Conduct proactive and effective fault diagnosis using mechanical and electrical root cause analysis to establish problems and determine solutions.
Requirements
  • Formal qualification in Engineering, NVQ level 3+ with a minimum of five years' experience in Electrical and Mechanical.
  • Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate actual workplace experience in applying Engineering knowledge and skills to perform root cause analysis.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to problem solve within a pressured environment.
  • Ability to work and collaborate as part of a team.
  • AC and DC motor experience and knowledge.
  • Variable Speed Drives fundamental knowledge.
  • 18th Edition IEE wiring regulations.
  • Experience of working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Basic welding techniques.
