Product Development Specialist

Lakeland Dairies Co-operative Society Limited is a leading dairy processor on the island of Ireland, with a complex and ambitious business model. Our milk supply pool consists of 2 billion litres of milk, sourced from over 3,200 family farms across 16 counties.
Our OperationsWe operate modern dairy manufacturing facilities in 8 locations on a cross-border basis, supplying a broad customer base, including blue-chip companies, across the dairy food ingredients, foodservice, and consumer food channels. Internationally, we export 240 different products to over 100 countries worldwide.
The RoleWe are seeking a Product Development Specialist to provide technical support for developing new products and improving existing ones, leading to improved profitability for our Foodservice Division. The successful candidate will be based in Newtownards, with occasional travel to group and customer sites.
Requirements- Hold a degree-level qualification in Food Science or a related discipline
- Have experience in product development, specification writing, and working in a food manufacturing environment (preferably dairy)
- Be proficient in MS Office, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have good organisational skills, a high attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of projects
- Have knowledge of dairy science, food nutrition, and food labelling
