Regional Maintenance Engineer

Job Objective:
At City Facilities Management, we are dedicated to fostering a strong partnership with our clients, ensuring that their facilities are impeccably maintained and meet the highest standards of cleanliness and functionality.
In response to our expanding operations, we are seeking an additional technician to perform both scheduled and urgent maintenance across various locations within a designated area.
The role involves executing planned and emergency repairs on a diverse array of electrical, mechanical, and structural assets in retail environments, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness while adhering to established Health and Safety protocols.
Primary Responsibilities:
To represent the organization professionally at all times and cultivate positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
To review and adhere to updated company guidelines as required.
To oversee the Maintenance Assistant (MA), providing regular guidance and support to ensure adherence to company procedures.
To respond swiftly and effectively to service requests from the Helpdesk, assessing job requirements and executing repairs as necessary.
To prioritize maintenance and repair tasks to meet agreed timelines and service level agreements (SLAs).To procure spare parts as needed for both planned and reactive maintenance.
To identify irreparable faults in equipment and machinery, promptly escalating findings to the Regional Engineering Supervisor (RES) with recommendations for suitable replacements.
When equipment is deemed non-repairable, to advise the RES on appropriate replacement options.To communicate with store management teams and the RES regarding any maintenance issues that may impact store operations.
To assist in managing subcontractor attendance alongside the RES and support store management in overseeing subcontractor activities on-site.
To conduct surveys and prepare reports as required.To perform modifications and installations within your technical expertise, adhering to current specifications.
To execute general repairs and maintenance tasks at designated retail locations as assigned by the RES,
including repairs to building structures and surfaces.
To provide assistance to other technicians in different locations when requested by the RES.
To recruit and select qualified Maintenance Assistants to ensure uninterrupted service delivery, following company recruitment policies.
To collaborate with project teams on store renovations, upgrades, and other relevant projects.To ensure that all necessary tools and equipment (as per the company tool list) for maintenance and repairs are consistently available and in good working order.
To maintain accurate records and utilize City applications effectively for job tracking and time management.To participate in training programs as necessary, ensuring that personal skills remain current with technological advancements, which may include overnight travel.
To ensure the asset database is accurate and up-to-date for each location.To adhere to the company's Health and Safety Policy at all times.
To collaborate with colleagues to uphold quality standards consistently.
To ensure that all compliance documentation required for assigned tasks is completed to the necessary quality standards.
To ensure that you and your team complete all mandatory training, including induction programs and eLearning modules within the required timeframes.
To provide on-the-job coaching and support to the team, ensuring they meet performance standards in their roles.
To deliver technical training solutions to the required standards, encouraging active participation and support for learning.To complete all training administration, including probationary reviews, to ensure team competency and awareness of performance.
To participate in an Out of Hours standby rota (minimum one week in four) and to perform general repairs to plumbing systems and drainage during Out of Hours Standby.To be the first point of contact for issues related to equipment such as Fire and Security systems, HVAC, electrical, and general maintenance concerns.
To comply with any other reasonable requests or instructions from the RES or other management personnel.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
City & Guilds (C&G) 18th Edition
C&G 2360 Parts 1 & 2
C&G 2330 – the current qualification replacing 2360
C&G 2356 – NVQ Level 3
C&G Electrical Part A & B – Approved Electrician
C&G Electrical Part C – Technician
BTEC Diploma in Electrical Installation
BTEC Diploma in Electrical Maintenance
Note: Both 2330 and 2356 are expected qualifications for someone who has recently completed a full electrical apprenticeship.
Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems and their applications.
Ability to manage and support team members effectively.
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
Friendly and approachable demeanor.
Customer-oriented mindset.
Self-driven and motivated.
Capability to maintain and repair various electrical and mechanical equipment, such as fans, pumps, and compressors, to recognized standards.
General plumbing and building maintenance experience.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Comfortable working at heights.
Valid driving license.
Ability to meet the standards required for the maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment and appliances.
Willingness to work flexible hours.
