We are currently in search of a committed and enthusiastic Youth Welfare Specialist to become a part of our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team. The MASH team is integral to early intervention and the coordination of services aimed at protecting children who may be at risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough evaluations of incoming referrals to assess risk levels and determine suitable actions.
  • Collaborate with partner organizations, including law enforcement, healthcare, and educational professionals, to collect information and create comprehensive intervention strategies.
  • Offer timely and suitable assistance to children and families, ensuring their perspectives and preferences are acknowledged and valued.
  • Engage in joint investigations and attend multi-agency meetings to formulate coordinated responses to safeguarding issues.
  • Communicate with external organizations and service providers to facilitate access to necessary support services and resources for children and families in need.
  • Keep precise and current case records, documentation, and reports in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Actively participate in the ongoing enhancement of MASH processes and practices, contributing to team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work or a related discipline.
  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE) or an equivalent professional body.
  • Prior experience in a children's social work environment, ideally within a MASH or similar multi-agency context.
  • Strong understanding of child protection laws, policies, and procedures, with the capability to apply this knowledge effectively in practice.
  • Excellent assessment and analytical abilities, with the capacity to make informed decisions in complex and challenging scenarios.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and partner organizations.
  • Dedication to professional growth and continuous learning, with a strong desire to enhance outcomes for children and families.
