Quantity Surveyor

As a Quantity Surveyor at Farrans Construction, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of our projects. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor and control costs, maximize revenue, and minimize liabilities.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide accurate financial reporting to achieve the appropriate commercial result for projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the supply chain and clients to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts, ensuring financial and contractual compliance.
- Place supply chain orders in accordance with the procurement schedule.
- Complete measurements and valuations of work executed, ensuring contract compliance.
- Ensure timely payments to subcontractors and suppliers, meeting cash targets.
- Ensure Farrans Construction complies with all contractual requirements.
- Monitor project expenditure against budget, providing analysis of cost overruns and projections.
- Identify opportunities to maximize value and minimize cost.
- Liaise with clients on commercial issues, including variations, claims, and additional payments.
- Prepare and document legitimate contractual claims.
- Strive for continuous improvement in the commercial process and your area of responsibility.
- Adhere to all business compliance requirements, aligning with Company policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a construction QS role, working on major projects.
- Strong understanding of modern building techniques, plant, and equipment, and logistical needs.
- Knowledge of construction contract conditions.
- Appreciation of the impact of cost on project completion and development of construction solutions.
- Degree-level education in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management, or equivalent qualification.
- Full driving license.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and database software.
