Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronic Design Engineer to join our team at People Source Consulting trading as Experis. As an Electronic Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electronic/electrical equipment, PCB layouts, and firmware. You will also be involved in assembly of electronic/electrical prototypes, wiring of electrical assemblies, and engineering calculations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Design electronic/electrical equipment, PCB layouts, and firmware.
  • Prototyping and Assembly: Assemble electronic/electrical prototypes and wire electrical assemblies.
  • Engineering Calculations: Perform engineering calculations, such as thermal management of electronics design and manufacture.
  • Review and Collaboration: Review designs with peers and managers and collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective job execution.
  • Client Communication: Deal with clients' technical queries and provide technical literature.
  • Technical File Maintenance: Maintain technical files and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
  • Initiative and Responsibility: A keen and responsible attitude to work is required, with the ability to show initiative in all responsibilities and tasks.
  • Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of ATEX products and processes critical to their manufacture is desirable, as well as basic knowledge of electrical assembly and design processes.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office 2000 or later, particularly Excel and Word, and ideally Access or similar database to basic level, Internet, email, Filemaker, Acumatica (ERP), and ARAS Innovator (document management) is required.
  • Literacy and Numeracy: Numeracy, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to follow through a task to its successful conclusion are essential.
  • Management Ability: Ability to manage own workload on a day-to-day basis, in line with workload from the team lead.
