As Allied Healthcare continues to expand rapidly, the Director of Operations will play a vital role in ensuring that all operational facets of the organization function smoothly. This position encompasses the management of shared services, including warehousing, logistics, customer service, IT, and health and safety, guaranteeing that these areas are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the strategic objectives of the company.

In this role, you will be instrumental in refining processes, supporting various business units, and delivering outstanding service to clients globally.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehousing Management

  • Oversee the performance of third-party logistics (3PL) warehouses, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Engage regularly with 3PL partners through meetings and site visits to ensure alignment with business requirements.
  • Analyze operational expenditures and performance metrics to uncover opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements.
  • Prepare comprehensive operational performance reports for senior leadership and assist in exploring new warehousing solutions as necessary.

Logistics and Shipping

  • Lead and mentor a team of logistics specialists, including an international report based in a key location.
  • Manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers, negotiating contracts to optimize shipping expenses.
  • Formulate and implement strategies for efficient delivery to various regions and explore new markets.
  • Address global shipping challenges, including rising costs and supply chain disruptions, ensuring the seamless movement of goods from diverse sourcing regions.

Customer Service Orientation

  • Maintain a customer-focused approach across all operational activities, overseeing the customer service desk responsible for managing orders and deliveries.
  • Ensure efficient, single-touch delivery processes, minimizing disruptions caused by stock issues or backorders.

IT Oversight

  • Supervise IT and Data Architecture, ensuring that strategic business needs are met, including ERP systems and cloud-based support.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of IT systems relevant to a growing organization, managing senior IT personnel.

Strategic Planning and Implementation

  • Develop and execute operational strategies that align with the company's growth ambitions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and profitability.

Leadership Attributes

  • Lead and cultivate a team of functional leaders across various shared services departments, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Utilize data-driven methodologies to monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement enhancements.
