The SEND and Inclusion Teams are seeking committed individuals to provide essential support within educational settings across Devon.
The Specialist Support Assistants will be responsible for implementing targeted support initiatives for students with special educational needs in mainstream schools. We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, and solution-oriented professionals who are dedicated to fostering an inclusive educational experience for all students. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to advocate for students while building effective relationships with school staff are essential.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs (further training will be provided)
- A proven track record of supporting learners across various educational settings
- Understanding of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) framework and its implications for students
- Recent experience in an educational environment is preferred, though other relevant experience will be considered
- A proactive attitude and a focus on finding solutions
- The ability to take initiative and perform well under pressure
- Effective communication skills to engage with children and staff
Applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work-related travel.
These positions will be based in various locations within Devon, and candidates should be prepared to travel to different areas as needed.
