Assistant Landscape Architect Role

Lead Careers is seeking an ambitious Assistant Landscape Architect to contribute to projects across multiple sectors, including Urban Design, Highways & Transport, Education, Environmental Improvements, Minerals and Waste Planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the design, management, and delivery of landscape design, urban design, and environmental improvement projects to achieve quality, programme, and financial targets.
  • Provide specialist landscape design and technical input to internal and external clients to support the delivery of complex and large-scale projects.
  • Support the undertaking of technical reports, including feasibility studies, to inform project development.
  • Assist colleagues with the delivery and evaluation of Landscape & Visual Impact and Landscape Character Assessments to achieve compliance with legislation and national/local policies.
  • Assist with the production of environmental assessments, such as Environmental Impact Assessments, to support the development and delivery of large-scale and complex projects.
  • Provide specialist IT support to colleagues to support project delivery, including a working knowledge of AutoCad/GIS software packages and Visualisation software packages.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety management systems and processes to ensure full compliance through daily work activities.
  • Assist in consultation, communication, and liaison with clients and stakeholders to facilitate project delivery and maintain a positive company reputation.
Requirements:
  • A Landscape Architecture degree.
  • Strong ICT skills, including competence in specialist computer applications used to support landscape, planning, design, and management activities.
  • Awareness of design standards and sustainability principles appropriate to landscape design, environmental improvement schemes, and land management plans.
  • Awareness of procurement practices used in design and construction.
  • Awareness of health and safety, technical, planning, and other legislation and good practice appropriate to hard/soft landscape projects and landscape planning.
  • Ability to provide technical support to complex and/or significantly scaled landscape projects.
  • Proven ability to write technical reports to a high standard.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload to achieve targets in a busy design consultancy environment.
  • A high level of personal drive and commitment to excellent customer care and the ability to set an example to other staff.
