Job Summary

We are seeking a highly accomplished and robust child care lawyer to join our busy legal team at Tameside Community Safety Partnership. This post offers the opportunity for a lawyer to gain experience as a senior lawyer, while still carrying a complex case and legal advice workload, or for one already in this position looking to work in a forward-thinking local authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a small team of child care lawyers
  • Hold a small caseload of complex matters, including carrying out advocacy in the range of courts and arenas where child care cases are dealt with
  • Assist the Head of Childcare Legal with ombudsman complaints, data protection, and freedom of Information requests
  • Train social workers and their managers
  • Participate in the management of the Childcare Team and wider Legal Services

Requirements

  • Highly accomplished and robust child care lawyer with a positive attitude and a practical and resilient approach to legal work
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
