Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a reputable Special Educational Needs (SEN) School Group in Darwen, Lancashire.

About the Role:

  • Assist in delivering daily lessons tailored to meet the needs of SEN students, promoting inclusive learning and social integration.
  • Support student assessment and help in preparing individual learning plans, ensuring each child receives the necessary support.
  • Facilitate social participation and engagement in school activities, fostering a sense of belonging among students.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with school tasks, helping them develop essential skills and confidence.
  • Help manage classroom behavior to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, promoting positive relationships among students and staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and professionals to promote student welfare, ensuring a holistic approach to education.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance understanding of SEN best practices, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in special education.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in education and support.
  • Experience working with children with SEN is preferred, showcasing a commitment to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Understanding of the needs of children with diverse learning disabilities, ensuring a tailored approach to support each student.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with students, parents, and professionals, promoting a collaborative environment.
  • Proactive, compassionate, and patient approach with children, prioritizing their well-being and education.
  • Commitment to professional development in special education, staying current with best practices and research.
  • Valid Enhanced DBS check, ensuring a safe and secure environment for students.
