Branch Manager

The Branch Manager will be responsible for ensuring the overall success of the branch, effectively managing operational activities, sales, and margins, recruitment, Health & Safety, and building a rapport with staff and customers to attract new business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exceed sales, margins, and profit budgets while controlling costs as agreed
- Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and best practices
- Recruit, develop, and motivate team members to reach their full potential
- Regularly communicate branch and company performance to the team
- Undertake disciplinary and grievance procedures when required
- Take overall responsibility for administrative and auditable tasks
- Contribute and communicate ideas for improving operations and administration procedures
- Adhere to company Health & Safety and Security standards
- Deputise for the Branch Manager in their absence
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as an Assistant Manager in a Builders Merchants
- Role-modelling behaviours, holding high levels of integrity, honesty, and confidentiality
- Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiating skills
- Ability to prioritise responsibilities under pressure and be self-motivated
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills
- Ability to be hands-on and lead from the front when required
- Commercial awareness of the industry
- Excellent IT skills (word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Previous sales and operations experience
- Understanding of business financials
