The Role
We're seeking a Unit Manager to lead our manufacturing team. As a Unit Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring the area of your Unit is always safe, efficient, and productive. You'll lead by example, motivating your team to achieve exceptional results and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining high-quality products, managing resources, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the area of your Unit is always safe and compliant with Graze safety standards.
- Lead the ownership of Quality culture within your team and support the site-wide Quality culture agenda.
- Maintain the efficiency of your Unit and build a relevant skill set within your team to ensure stock is made and dispatched on time.
- Manage Unit resources within business cost targets and identify opportunities for operational cost improvements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in your Unit and facilitate cross-functional projects.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in FMCG or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to positively motivate the team by setting clear standards and expectations.
- Effective management of resources versus key operational performance indicators and targets.
- Ability to identify opportunities and provide solutions for control and improvement.
- Strong and effective communication skills within the team and cross-functionally.
What to Expect in Your First 6 Months
- Learn quickly about the Graze business, our portfolio, and how we operate.
- Take full ownership of leading your Unit and your team.
- Gain a functional understanding of your Unit, including machinery, processes, planning, and warehouse management software.
- Build collaborative relationships within your team, site-wide, and across functions.
- Understand key barriers to safety, quality, output, and cost improvements in your Unit and challenge those.
