Repairs Supervisor

Cheltenham Borough Council is seeking a skilled and experienced Repairs Supervisor to join their Repairs Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading and inspiring a team of trades operatives to deliver high standards of performance and work quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and motivate a team of trades operatives to achieve excellent performance and customer satisfaction
  • Manage and develop the skills of team members, ensuring they have the necessary training and support to excel in their roles
  • Collaborate with other teams to achieve positive outcomes for customers and colleagues
  • Authorise annual leave requests and ensure mandatory training completion
  • Manage team and service quality, encouraging continuous improvement
  • Diagnose repairs, raise work orders, and create risk assessments
  • Deputise for the Repairs Manager when required
  • Work with relevant teams on property conditions and identify rechargeable repairs
  • Contribute to IT application development, ensuring software meets business needs
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable practical experience in building construction and repairs
  • Management of colleagues including operatives and contractors
  • Diagnosis of building defects at properties and follow recognised building practice to resolve
  • HNC in Building or equivalent is desirable
  • Social housing and budget management experience is a bonus
  • Understanding of condensation and rising damp
  • Proficient in IT including Microsoft Packages, housing management systems and PDAs
  • Successful track record of meeting standards and performance indicators
