We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Buying Assistant to join our dynamic Appliances team at our Huddersfield head office.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide administrative support to our Buyers and Assistant Buyers.
- Stay up-to-date with product trends and promotional activity through benchmarking and competitor reviews.
- Develop a strong knowledge of our product range and identify gaps against our biggest competitors.
- Review pricing and advise Buyers and suppliers on opportunities to improve competitiveness.
- Set up new products and ensure online content is accurate and easy to use.
- Review sales data weekly and support Buyers with analysis.
- Attend supplier and internal meetings, taking minutes and following up on action points.
- Keep range plans and system data up to date.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A commercial mindset, coupled with curiosity and analytical skills.
- A positive attitude and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience as a Buyer's Assistant is beneficial but not essential.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Self-motivation and ability to work autonomously while supporting the wider team.
