About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Device Safety Officer to join our team at Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in promoting and improving the safe use of medical devices across our trust.

Main Responsibilities

  • Investigate serious device-related incidents or significant near misses to determine root causes and implement necessary changes to reduce the likelihood of reoccurrence.
  • Lead medical device governance for the trust, creating a program of medical device safety improvement, including improving the frequency and quality of incident reports involving devices.
  • Respond to nationally reported device safety initiatives and collaborate with the Head of Clinical Engineering to ensure effective implementation.

Working with Us

As a Medical Device Safety Officer, you will work closely with Corporate Nursing, Medical Engineering, and Divisional teams to promote a culture of safety and excellence. You will be responsible for ensuring that medical devices are used safely and effectively, and that any issues or incidents are reported and addressed promptly.

Requirements

  • Registered nursing, midwifery, or allied health professional qualification.
  • Experience in medical device safety, governance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex incidents and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
