Job Title: Junior Frontend Engineer

We are seeking a talented Junior Frontend Engineer to join our Front End development team at Verisk Maplecroft. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating and supporting the development of client-facing features and applications that form our product offerings.

About the Role

As a Junior Frontend Engineer, you will work closely with our experienced front-end developers to design, develop, and deliver high-quality, user-focused improvements. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Requirements gathering, refinement, and delivery of user-focused improvements
  • Delivering high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code that meets user requirements
  • Peer reviewing other developers' work in a thorough and constructive manner
  • Collaborating with other developers, project owners, UX designers, and QA engineers to deliver high-quality solutions

About You

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is eager to learn and grow with our team. As a Junior Frontend Engineer, you will have some familiarity with Angular (or similar front-end frameworks) and be well-versed in interacting with back-end APIs. You will be expected to have a good understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals, as well as experience with TypeScript and reactive-style programming.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • A good understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals
  • Experience with TypeScript and reactive-style programming
  • Familiarity with Angular (or similar front-end frameworks)
  • Experience with consuming REST APIs
  • Understanding of Git and working collaboratively on team-level code bases

Nice to Have

While not required, experience with the following technologies would be beneficial:

  • NgRx, Redux, or similar state management approaches
  • Experience with testing, particularly unit and integration testing with Jest or similar
  • e2e and/or BDD testing
  • Industry experience in working with Agile software development practices
  • Knowledge and experience in applying Web Security best practices
  • Python/Django
  • AWS
  • Using or configuring Docker/Containerization
  • CI/CD pipeline configuration
