Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated pharmacist or pharmacy technician to oversee a dynamic patient care pharmacy division within a prominent healthcare institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the provision of pharmaceutical care for both inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Support the dispensary following the implementation of advanced robotic dispensing systems.
  • Facilitate the training and development of both permanent and rotating staff, including mentoring and tutoring opportunities.
  • Assist the lead pharmacist in the implementation of patient-centered consultations.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a GPhC registration as a pharmacist or pharmacy technician, along with a diploma in General Pharmacy Practice or an equivalent qualification. A broad range of hospital experience is essential.

Strong communication skills are a must, along with a collaborative spirit to thrive in a large multidisciplinary team. The candidate should be approachable, adaptable, and eager to learn new skills while demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.

This is a full-time role, with the expectation of participating in on-call duties, weekend shifts, bank holidays, and late-night rotations.

About the Pharmacy Department:

The Pharmacy Department provides extensive pharmaceutical services across the institution, including inpatient and outpatient care, a highly regarded clinical pharmacy service supported by specialized clinical pharmacists, and a well-equipped Medicines Information center integrated into the Regional Medicines Information Centre. Additionally, a licensed 'specials' manufacturing unit enhances these services.
