About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HIU Engineer / Plumber to join our team at Elevate Everywhere. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing various types of Hydraulic Interface Units (HIUs) in residential properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the adoption of Safe Working Practices during works within residential properties.
  • Provide a quality service to our clients across London and Essex.
  • Make effective recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Adopt HSE Policies, Procedures, and Objectives.
  • Ensure that Statutory and Mandatory Inspections are satisfactorily carried out and submit relevant documentation and records.
  • Support and assist colleagues where necessary.
  • Servicing and repairs to Hydraulic Interface Units by carrying out a first-time fix.
  • Monitor personal stock to ensure you have the required levels of components.
  • React to Hydraulic Interface Unit repair works to investigate the cause of breakdown and where possible, service the HIU and carry out efficiency settings to heating and hot water circuits.
  • Accept requests and attend to residential breakdowns during your period of cover.
  • Compile a job report for the Client and direct the residents to the Client for works updates.
  • Be versatile to support all Department works.
Requirements
  • Well-presented, wearing company uniform at all times.
  • Organised and polite.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexible approach to working practices and hours.
  • Technical knowledge on commercial or residential heating systems.
  • Experience working on domestic boilers.
  • Experience with HIUs is preferable but training will be provided.
  • Mechanical biased with understanding of current industry practices and relevant legislation.
  • Previous experience in a Plumbing position.
  • Heating systems and supporting distribution systems.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Working safely, training will be provided.
Desirable Skills and Expertise
  • Served a recognised apprenticeship and/or be qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ level 2 in Plumbing/HVAC with Electrical qualifications and registered to the appropriate body as required for the role.
  • Renewables experience desirable.
  • Servicing and fault diagnosing on Hydraulic Interface Units.
  • Electrical qualification to the latest Edition of BS 7671 that includes modifying current electrical controls.
  • Willingness to study for relevant Industry qualifications is essential.
  • Willingness to develop and learn with our team of highly experienced HIU engineers.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Hot Water Systems or valid unvented hot water certification.
