Position Overview

We are pleased to announce openings for three B5 Advanced Assistant Psychologist roles within the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), acute, and rehabilitation inpatient pathways. The successful candidates will join a collaborative team environment, providing essential psychological support and services.

These positions are designed to offer a diverse range of experiences across two wards, allowing candidates to develop their skills and expertise. The distribution of responsibilities will be tailored to the unique qualifications and experiences of the selected individuals, while also considering their preferences whenever feasible.

The primary focus of these roles is to function as integral members of multidisciplinary teams, applying a biopsychosocial approach to patient care. Each post-holder will benefit from regular clinical supervision from a qualified psychologist, ensuring professional development and support.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the post-holders include:

  • Assisting qualified psychologists in delivering psychological services within the designated pathways.
  • Supporting the formulation process and conducting specialized assessments and interventions.
  • Generating professional reports on assessments and interventions.
  • Contributing to training initiatives within the service.
  • Utilizing research skills for audits, literature reviews, and service development projects.
  • Demonstrating initiative and the ability to work independently when appropriate.
  • Providing compassionate care grounded in empathy, respect, and dignity.
