Astute People is working with a leading Gas Storage facility in Hampshire to find a skilled Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join their team.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join our client's team. As a Control & Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new process control systems and safety systems as part of capital projects. You will also be responsible for ensuring instrumentation hazardous area design and installation is carried out in accordance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Identify areas for recommended plant improvement and develop project work scopes and schedules for the Engineering Department.
  2. Design and implement new process control systems and safety systems as part of capital projects.
  3. Take financial responsibility for small single function C&I Projects.
  4. Ensure instrumentation hazardous area design and installation is carried out in accordance with industry regulations.
  5. Provide technical support to operations, including diagnosis, root cause analysis, and implementation of remedial work required to ensure control system availability and integrity.
  6. Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to C&I Technicians.
  7. Ensure that all documentation and certification is in place for the installed facilities and that they fully comply with the statutory legislative and regulatory requirements with respect to the C&I discipline.
Requirements
  1. Ideal candidate would have a Degree in a relevant Electronics, Control System/Automation or Instrumentation engineering field.
  2. IOSH or NEBOSH or similar in Health & Safety.
Personal Skills

The Control & Instrumentation Engineer would suit someone with:

  1. At least five years supervisory experience in the Oil & Gas / COMAH / Chemical or similar industry.
  2. Experience working on PLC application software and AutoCAD.
