Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

As a Metallurgical Testing Specialist, your duties will include:

  • Performing a variety of tests utilizing metallographic and mechanical techniques, ensuring results meet the highest standards for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assisting in investigations across various departments, including Forensic Metallurgy and Research & Development.
  • Maintaining compliance with industry standards and preserving necessary accreditations.
  • Ensuring Statistical Process Control (SPC) standards are maintained within your designated area.
  • Collaborating with Health and Safety teams to uphold safe testing practices.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

The successful candidate should possess an HNC level qualification or equivalent in Metallurgy/Materials, along with relevant experience in a steel manufacturing environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in metallurgical testing and evaluation, including:

  • Grain Size Analysis
  • Material Cleanliness Assessment
  • Decarburization Evaluation
  • Structural Analysis
  • Etchant Types and Their Application
  • Tensile Strength Testing
  • Hardness Testing
  • Impact Resistance Testing
