We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Deputy Manager to join our team at South Haven Lodge Care Home in Woolston, Southampton. As a key member of our management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the Home Manager to develop and implement strategies for service improvement and change management.
- Provide leadership and support to the nursing and care teams, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver exceptional care.
- Supervise nurses on a daily basis and provide formal clinical supervision to ensure they are meeting the required standards.
- Liaise with General Practitioners and other healthcare professionals to ensure residents receive the necessary medical and clinical support.
- Focus on delivering high-quality care that meets the individual needs of our residents.
- Stay up-to-date with clinical developments and best practices in care delivery, ensuring our home remains at the forefront of care excellence.
- Ensure colleagues have received the necessary training and that learning is transferred into practice.
- Monitor the delivery of care, including infection prevention and control procedures, and develop links with local nurse specialists and teams.
- Provide support with medicines management and assess colleagues' competency to manage medication.
- Ensure colleagues are aware of company policies and procedures and that these are implemented in practice.
- Ensure safeguarding vulnerable adults procedures are implemented and that all colleagues are aware of their responsibilities.
- Provide information to residents and relatives about care delivery, ensuring data protection and Caldicott requirements are met.
- Act within your competence and knowledge, in line with NMC registration requirements.
- Assist the Home Manager in meeting regulatory, contract, and good practice standards.
- Participate in continuous professional development to meet NMC requirements for PREP and continuing registration.
- Perform any other duties as required to meet service delivery needs.
- Previous deputy/managerial experience in a nursing setting.
- Valid NMC pin number.
- Full-time contract.
- Ability to work weekends (1 in 4 a month) and be on call as required.
- 28 days annual leave, including bank holidays (pro rata for part-time contracts).
