Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Thorn Baker Construction. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for upholding health and safety standards and maintaining a positive culture towards behavioural safety across our national sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake regular observation inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Investigate and report on incidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Prepare and present leading and lagging indicator statistics to inform the development of our safety strategy.
- Advise and assist site and office-based staff on health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements.
- Source, plan, and deliver training to employees on health and safety best practices.
- Assess the competence of sub-contractors and contribute to the development of our safety management systems.
- Carry out risk assessments and COSHH assessments to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate internal audits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Requirements:
- Relevant health and safety qualification (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely) and experience in a similar role.
- Experience in delivering presentations and training sessions.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and databases.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel nationally and occasionally overnight.
- Full UK driving licence.
